Smart Demonstration Format w/ Plenty of Audience Participation
Wylie’s been the presenter at two recent evening meetups I attended – the first, a Chicago .NET User Group event regarding SQL Server 2016 technology enhancements for developers, and the second, an overview of tabular models in SQL 2016 presented by the Chicago Suburban SQL Server User Group. Wylie’s balance of ~25% lecture to ~75% demonstration is a smart format for an evening meetup. At both of these events, he led with a concise overview of topics he’d address, followed by a well paced demo of each feature, fluidly transitioning from one point to the next. He handles the room well, fielding questions along the way, eliciting plenty of audience participation. I’ve enjoyed Wylie’s events, and look forward to the next.

I attended the presentation Wylie did for SQL Saturday – Kansas City. It was very organized and to the point training on how to analyze SQL Server data with MS PowerPivot. I have worked with Wylie Blanchard for the past 6 months. Wylie is very intelligent and dedicated. He provided training sections to the technical/non-tech teams about the new system that we are going to upgrade to; accomplished projects that require both DBA and developer knowledge and experience and have never been done before in our department. You can always find someone to administer Database, troubleshoot issues, train the technical/non-technical staff, adventure new technology, etc.., but finding someone that has integrity and is trustworthy is truly valuable.

A Great Learning Experience
I had the opportunity to participate in the Microsoft Excel Training given in November 2014 at Westwood College River Oaks Campus. It was a great learning experience for me as well as my colleagues. The instructor was knowledgeable as well as passionate about the subject who made it much more interesting and relatable. Microsoft Excel is used in my daily operations but since the Intro. to Excel Training course, I’m happy to say that I am able to maneuver throughout the program with confidence. Trainings such as this will enhance the skills and knowledge that myself and other employees possess.
